Record of Decision
The Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District and the City of Chanhassen have released an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the Upper Riley Creek Enhancement Project: Highway 5 to Lake Susan, in Chanhassen, MN.
The project includes stream restoration and stabilization along approximately 1.6 miles of Upper Riley Creek. The proposed project would improve the ecological functions along the reach of Upper Riley Creek and downstream Lake Susan by reducing stream bank erosion, reconnecting the creek to its floodplain, restoring habitat, and promoting diverse vegetation.
The environmental assessment worksheet (EAW) is a brief document designed to lay out the basic facts of a project necessary to determine if an environmental impact statement (EIS) is required for the proposed project. More information about the EAW process can be found by clicking this link.
A copy of the EAW is available for review at the City of Chanhassen City Hall – Engineering Department (7700 Market Boulevard, 55317) and online by clicking here.
Based on the EAW, Record of Decision document, and related documentation for this project, the city does not require the proposer to complete an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
A copy of the Record of Decision is available for review at the City of Chanhassen City Hall – Engineering Department (7700 Market Boulevard, 55317) and online by clicking here.
