Planning Commission
Overview
The Planning Commission prepares and maintains the city's Comprehensive Plan and advises the City Council on implementing the plan. The Commission also conducts public hearings and recommends proposed changes affecting zoning and land uses within the city, considers site plan reviews, conditional use permits, variances, and special studies (i.e., the Bluff Creek Overlay District and the Highway 5 Corridor Study) to the City Council.
The Planning Commission forwards information gathered from these public hearings, along with their recommendations, to the City Council for final action.
The Planning Commission also serves as the Board of Adjustments and Appeals.

The members of the Planning Commission serve three-year staggered terms and are appointed by the City Council.
