Responsibilities & Services

The Finance Department is responsible for preparing financial reports, such as the budget, capital improvements program (CIP), and annual financial report. These documents indicate how the city intends to raise funds for operations, capital equipment, and infrastructure and report how closely the city budgeted for those costs.

The Finance Department also prepares utility bills, special assessment records, and payroll for city staff.

The city is committed to implementing and maintaining strong fiscal policies and financial discipline. In previous years, the city has established several financial policies. These existing policies were updated and incorporated into one comprehensive financial policies document in February 2023. It was updated in January 2024 and can be found here.
