Fire Department
About Us
The Chanhassen Fire Department staffs twenty-two paid-on-call firefighters, four paid-on-call battalion chiefs, a full-time fire chief, a full-time assistant chief/fire marshal, three full-time captains, three full-time firefighters, a full-time inspector/firefighter, and a full-time community risk reduction specialist/firefighter. A volunteer fire department chaplain also serves the members and community when needed.
The Fire Chief reports to the City Manager and is responsible for Emergency Management for the community. The Fire Chief manages the department using three paid-on-call Battalion Chiefs.
All calls are handled by one fire station within Chanhassen. Our equipment includes three engine companies, one 100 foot platform ladder, and various smaller rescue and grass fire units. The fire department utilizes mutual aid agreements from surrounding communities on calls that demand more resources than are available within the city.
