Overview

This project is planned to be constructed in 2025. The intersection of Crimson Bay Road and State Highway 5 (Arboretum Boulevard) will be permanently closed and removed due to the future Hwy 5 expansion project. The city applied for and was awarded a $710,000 grant from MnDOT to assist with funding this disconnection due to its safety improvement. There will be a raised median on Hwy 5 and restriping of the right turn lane. Crimson Bay Road will be extended north to connect with Dogwood Road and West 78th Street. The project also anticipates adding storm, sanitary, and water utilities. This project will take place ahead of upcoming improvements being planned for Hwy 5 as part of the Arboretum Area Transportation Plan. The MnDOT grant, the city’s Municipal State Aid funds, special assessments, and utility funds will fund the project. 20231110_CBR Improvements Feasibility Study_Page_13
