Permit to Purchase a Handgun

The Carver County Sheriff's Office processes permits to purchase for Chanhassen residents. The application form can be obtained from the Carver County Sheriff's Office or online at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

A completed application can be mailed or dropped off at the Chaska Carver County Sheriff's Office (606 East Fourth Street, Chaska, MN, 55318).

Permit to Carry a Handgun

The Carver County Sheriff's Office processes all permits to carry applications for all residents of Carver County. The application must be dropped off at the Carver County Sheriff's Office by the person applying for the permit. A copy of the completed training and the applicant's driver's license is also required.

There is a $100 fee for the permit. The permit is valid for five years if issued.
