Applications for the 2024 Teen Volunteer Program are now closed. Thank you to this summer’s group of volunteers! 

Applications for the 2025 Teen Volunteer Program will open in April 2025.   

The Chanhassen Teen Volunteer program aims to develop leadership and responsibility through community involvement and volunteer opportunities for teens ages 13-16. Opportunities may include youth programs and activities, community events, youth sports, park projects, and more during June, July, and August.

Volunteer hours are flexible, ranging from 6-20 hours per week, depending on interest and availability. Teen Volunteers meet twice monthly throughout the summer, in addition to weekly volunteer hours.

1. Wednesday, June 5 l 4:00–7:00 p.m.
   1. Training.
2. Tuesday, June 11 l 9:30-11:00 a.m.
3. Friday, June 14 l 1:00–3:00 p.m.
   1. Community CPR, first-aid, and epi-pen training.
4. Tuesday, June 25 l 9:30–11:00 a.m.
5. Tuesday, July 9 l 9:30–11:00 a.m.
6. Tuesday, July 23 l 9:30–11:00 a.m.

Teen Volunteer Opportunities

Interviews will take place in May to determine volunteer placement, which will be based largely on interest and availability.

Summer Discovery Playground Program
Teen Volunteers will assist Playground Camp Leaders in leading the Summer Discovery Playground Program for children ages 4-12. Volunteers will assist with games, activities, sports, crafts, snacks, safety, behavior management, and more. The program runs from June 10 through July 26, and volunteer shifts are available Mondays-Fridays, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Rec Center Sports
Teen volunteers will assist Rec Center Sports Coaches in leading the Rec Center Sports program. Sports include Soccer, T-Ball, Track & Field, Golf, Football, and Super Heroes in Training. Volunteer shifts are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 4:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

Lake Ann Adventure Camp
Teen Volunteers will assist Playground Leader staff in leading the popular Lake Ann Adventure Camp program for children ages 7-12. Volunteer shifts are available Mondays-Fridays, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Volunteers interested in shifts at Lake Ann Adventure Camp must also volunteer at the Summer Discovery Playground Program, Rec Center Sports, or Summer Concert Series prior to Lake Ann Camp to ensure adequate preparation for this program. 

Summer Concert Series
Teen volunteers will assist in event setup and sell concessions at community concert series performances. Volunteer shifts are available Thursdays, 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., from June 6 through August 8.
