The City of Chanhassen's swimming beaches are open to the public between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily.

Lifeguards at Lake Ann

Lake Ann Park Beach will no longer have lifeguards on duty. The beach is still open to the public during regular park hours.

The city’s provider terminated contracted lifeguard services for Lake Ann Beach in 2024. Although the city tried to hire lifeguards directly, it was unable to establish its own program due to staffing shortages and a lack of applicants. 

Beaches without Lifeguards on Duty

• Carver Beach on Lotus Lake, 6891 Lotus Trail
• Greenwood Shores Beach on Lake Ann, 7110 Utica Lane
• Roundhouse Park Beach on Lake Minnewashta, 3950 Kings Road
• Lake Ann Beach on Lake Ann, 1456 W 78^th St
• Lake Minnewashta Regional Park (operated by Carver County) is located on Highway 41 (Hazeltine Boulevard) between Highways 5 and 7.

Pets

• Per Chanhassen City Code Section 14-65, pets are prohibited in public beach areas. However, walking leashed dogs is allowed on city trails and streets.

Flotation Devices

• Only Coast Guard-approved flotation devices are allowed on Chanhassen's public beaches.
