Overview

The yard waste site will be opening on Monday, April 1. It will be open from April 1 until November 25 ( previously Nov. 15) at the Public Works Facility on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (excluding city holidays).

Summer hours will be in effect Memorial Day - Labor Day, and Public Works will close at 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. Residents who want to drop-off yard waste on Friday afternoons between 12:00-2:30 p.m. during summer hours will need to pay ahead by depositing a payment in the drop bin. Exact cash or check will only be accepted. Chanhassen Public Works is located at 7901 Park Place, Chanhassen, MN 55317.

Residents must check in at the Public Works office and show proof of residency. We accept cash, check, or credit.

• Wood of any diameter (no lumber)
• Paper yard waste bags
• Compostable bags

• Lumber (treated and untreated)

• Sod

• Fireplace or BBQ ashes
• Rock
• Metal

Cost for Residents

Fees are $1.00 per bag and $15.00 per truck/trailer load. Residents pay at the Public Works office before unloading.

Free Mulch Bin

Looking for some mulch? We have now installed a bin for free mulch near the yard waste dumping site. Mulch is self-serve. Please do not dump any yard waste in the mulch bin.

Convenient and Easy - Private Haulers

All residential solid waste haulers operating in Chanhassen offer yard waste disposal to customers. Options include a weekly, seasonal pick up or some may offer an on-call option and pick up yard waste on request. The weekly, seasonal collection offered by haulers runs from April to November and costs a little over $100 for the year. The hauler will provide a yard waste cart and many haulers don’t charge for additional bags or bundles of yard waste. Contact your hauler to see what options are available to you.
